Programmed to Consume Tracklist:
I gave this on a 5 simply because of the amazing and original album art. Best I've ever seen. Great album too! Good ones are Compulsory Resurrection and Programmed to Consumed. Also a good because it doesn't have the usual "hail Satan!" theme
This band is pretty awesome, but where is their sweet video for "Programmed To Consume"? iTunes needs to put a lot more metal music vids on here! On a more topical note, this band is pretty awesome. If you like straight up death metal; this guys are for you.
And with other releases that are as good as Programmed to Consume, (Belphegor's Bondage Goat Zombie Meshuggah's Obzen, Amon Amarth's Twilight of the Thundergod) Abysmal Dawn is slowly crawling up to the top of my death meath favorites. What draws me to this awesome death metal group is the metronome, creative, fast/pummiling drumming!! Just take a listen to the Compulsory Ressurection, and Grotesque Modern Art. Each track on this album is amazing but I would recommend to buy those two tracks if you are on a fixed income like I am. F*****g economy... anyways this should be in the top death metal releases for 08. Recommend to fans of Nile, Cannibal Corpse, Bloodbath, and Origin.
I have to give them a 4 out of 5 simply because when I saw em live they were just amazing. This album was awesome though. The variety they have is just amazing. They show their musical talent as well as their technicality and this album just proves they are a force to be wreckoned with. Not as good as their last album but still damn good
Breakdowns are a guy thing. Most girls couldn't care less about these slow moving, testosterone pumping phonema. There are no breakdowns on Programmed To Consume, and it's nice. Instead listeners can expect a solid 37 minutes of old school-ish death metal with growling vocals backed by steady guitars and rumbling drums. There are also no funny time changes or goofy wheetely-wheetley-wee guitar solos. Tradition is the key here. The elements used on this album are all already proven techniques. The end result is brutality.
This album has the most brutal and original cover art I've seen in a long time! Great lyrical concepts, very socio-political and whatnot. You can hear how much they hate our modern consumer based culture and with the band hailing from L.A. it makes a lot of sense. One of the better Death Metal albums I've heard in a while.
this is a good, solid, and noisy death metal release with nice guitar riffs and hooks. The best track s Walk the Path of Fire. My favorite is Aeon Aomegas. If you like Cannibal Corpse buy tracks 1+4, and Twilight's Fallen and Cease to Comprehend are the heaviest. Track 5+6 are creepy and are more for fans of Black Metal, especially the Descent.
